About

The mission of the St. Tammany Art Association is to provide quality programming and cultural enrichment to the community, to support established artists, promote emerging artists, and produce educational arts related activities for adults and children and in doing so, enhance life in St. Tammany Parish.

The St. Tammany Art Association (STAA) was founded in 1958 by a small group of civic-minded individuals dedicated to bringing art to western St. Tammany Parish. Today the Art Association is an organization with over 600 members that has served as a catalyst for the arts. The organization has grown into a new building in downtown Covington to further serve the needs of emerging and established artists, and to provide arts education and exhibitions.

Supported by a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council as administered by the St. Tammany Arts Commission.
